High-profile Russian officials have warned Western countries about their discussion of providing more arms to Ukraine, including tanks.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov voiced his criticism on Thursday that delivering weapons to Ukraine "will mean taking the conflict to a whole new level."
He added that it will not bode well in terms of global and European security.
On the same day, former Russian President and current Deputy Chairman of Russia's Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said on social media that the US and European nations plan to gather in western Germany on Friday to discuss military support.
Medvedev noted the Western countries are repeating that Russia must lose to achieve peace.
He warned that a nuclear power's loss of a conventional war can lead to a nuclear one. He stressed, "Nuclear powers haven't been defeated in major conflicts crucial for their destiny."
Medvedev is known for his hard-liner language including Russia's nuclear force.
