A US venture set up by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has launched its new rocket. The New Glenn rocket developed by Blue Origin lifted off from the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida on Thursday. The firm says it reached space. It says the roughly 98-meter rocket has a payload of 45 tons, and this time it carried equipment to conduct telecommunication tests. To cut costs, New Glenn's first-stage booster is designed to be recovered by putting it onto a vessel in the sea. But the firm said it failed to do so as the reusable stage was lost while it was descending. In the United States, SpaceX, led by Elon Musk, has been handling many of the satellite and other launches. Blue Origin aims at entering the space business in full scale with the new rocket.
