1. Violent border conflicts between Thailand and Cambodia have resulted in ten deaths and around 70 injuries since December 5th. The Thai military has been conducting airstrikes on Cambodian military facilities, with three Thai soldiers killed and over 52 people wounded. 2. Over 130,000 people from the Thai side of the border have fled the region due to the conflict. Both sides, including Prime Ministers Anutin Charnvirakul of Thailand and Hun Manet of Cambodia, are taking hardline stances, with each accusing the other of initiating the violence. 3. The escalating tensions could potentially threaten a peace deal brokered by US President Donald Trump in October, which was signed after previous deadly border clashes in July. The Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, has expressed concern and urged both parties to exercise restraint to avoid further escalation.
