Glitch found in app for reading driver's license info on 'My Number' ID cards NHK

The National Police Agency in Japan says a glitch has been found in an app used to read data from "My Number" national identification cards that have driver's license information registered to them.

As of Monday, people in Japan can use their My Number card as a driver's license if they register their license information with the ID system.

But according to the agency, the glitch that occurred on Monday has caused part of the driver's license image to be shown incorrectly by the app.

It says the labels "standard motorcycle" and "large motorcycle" in the license type section are either missing or incorrectly displayed.

Other text information beneath the image is being shown correctly.

Agency officials say the smartphone app has been fixed, but it will take several more days to fix the version for personal computers.
