A hot spring facility in the northern Japanese city of Hokuto in Hokkaido is offering a warm bath filled with quince fruits, a local specialty. Cultivation of the fruit began in the city more than 30 years go. About 900 kilograms were harvested this year. The quince is native to Central Asia and has a sweet aroma. The facility began providing the service on Tuesday. People soaked in the bath filled with about 50 quince fruits. A man in his 70s from Hokuto says the quince smelled sweet, and it was pleasant and refreshing. An official of the operator said he hopes the visitors enjoy the aroma and relax. The quince hot bath service runs until November 4.
