A standoff between Sudan&#039;s army and a paramilitary group continues, with more than 90 civilians so far reported dead as a result of the fighting.
                
The clashes between the army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, or RSF, erupted on Saturday.
                
The RSF grew discontent with negotiations that had been underway since the army seized power in an October 2021 coup. The talks were aimed at steering the country to civilian rule.
                
Local media outlets reported gun battles in the capital, Khartoum, on Monday. In a northern city, fighters have been reportedly locked in a battle for control of an airport.
                
A local doctors&#039; group said more than 90 civilians have been killed and over 900 people, including soldiers, injured. Officials said some were unable to reach hospital due to the ongoing fighting.
                
Sudan&#039;s foreign ministry announced in a statement on Monday that the army chief has ordered the dissolution of the RSF and labeled it a rebellious group.
                
The RSF, meanwhile, has accused the military of attacking innocent people.
