Group of Seven nations and partners have confirmed their commitment to continue to assist Ukraine's electric power and energy industries.
Japanese Foreign Minister Hayashi Yoshimasa and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken co-hosted an online meeting about the support on Friday.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba and foreign chiefs of like-minded European countries were among the participants, along with their counterparts from G7 countries.
They discussed maintaining and restoring an electric power and energy infrastructure that Russia has attacked repeatedly.
Hayashi explained that Japan intends to provide Ukraine with large electrical transformers and other equipment, and pledged to help enhance Ukraine's energy system.
Hayashi also stressed that Japan, as holder of this year's G7 presidency, will continue to promote international support for Ukraine's energy sector.
